Small Groups

As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17

Small group ministry is a way of doing church that involves small groups of people meeting regularly to deepen their faith and community:

Focus Small groups focus on building community, exploring spirituality, and serving the community.

Purpose Small groups are intentional gatherings with a purpose, such as joining God's mission
or practicing spiritual habits.

Structure Small groups typically have 6–12 people and meet regularly, usually once a month.

Leadership Small groups are led by a congregation member, lay leader, or vicar.

Benefits Small groups can help people develop meaningful friendships, feel accountable,
and create positive changes in their lives.

Small group ministry can also be called covenant group ministry because members make an
intentional commitment to each other.

The Petersen's
Small Group Coordinators

We're Joel and Faith Petersen! We've been apart of different small groups over the last 15 years, and we can say with certainty that a healthy small group is invaluable to both the Christian and the church. That's why we're passionate about helping our New Life Church family connect and grow together through small groups.
